In what appeared to be a dramatic turn of events at the Federal High
Court Abuja, the typically large crowd of political supporters and
associates of the embattled Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, were conspicuously absent.
The scene was in stark contrast to the large number of his supporters who have previously gathered in front of the court. Even his entourage of political associates, who typically accompany Mr. Metuh to the court, were conspicuously absent.
The PDP Public Secretary is currently facing charges for his alleged collection of N400 million from the former National Security Advisor (NSA) Colonel Sambo Dasuki. He has been unable to meet the bail condition granted to him by both Federal High Court and FCT High Court.
The PDP spokesperson has remained in prison since the first day of his trial when the court ordered that he
should be remanded in the custody of a prison. At the resumption of the
case on Monday, Mr. Metuh made the request for a variation of his bail
