Plot To Rewrite Senate Standing Rules Oncovered

A SECRET plan to print a new Order Book (Senate Standing Orders 2015) to cover some lapses committed by Senate President Bukola Saraki has been uncovered.

The new rules book may be smuggled into the upper chamber without the approval of the Senate as required by Order 110, The Nation has learnt.

But many senators, across party lines yesterday vowed to resist the plot, which they considered a desecration of the Upper Chamber.

The Senate leadership is believed to have realised that it erred on the constitution of the Standing Committees of the chamber.
Order 97 (1-57) specifies that the Senate should have 57 committees but without consultations and approval

Review: Popular Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen May End Up in SA Prison

South Africa’s Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL Rights Commission) has threatened a jail term for Chris Oyakhilome if his church, Christ Embassy, fails to release its financial records.

Several controversial religious leaders could also face prison if they do not adhere to the demands of the Commission.
Commission head Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva told News24 she had already asked the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to advise on their next legal course of action.

“We are forced to take the legal route because some of them are not complying and we cannot be held [to] ransom by a few,” she told News24.

Shocking: Two Nigerian Pilgrims Absconds In Isreal

Nazareth (Israel) – Two members of the Plateau pilgrimage contingent are missing, the Acting Secretary of the state Pilgrims Board, Mrs Hassana Ayika, has confirmed.

Ayika in Nazareth, Israel, on Wednesday said that the two persons, a man and a woman, were said to have gone missing at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Ayika said the roommates of the missing persons reported that they woke up in the night and did not find them on their beds which suggested that they might have absconded.

She said that the matter had been reported to the Israeli authorities through the Nigerian Embassy and that efforts were being made to track and repatriate them.

She further said that their guarantors would be punished accordingly as they would be made to bear the cost

of sending them back to Nigeria.

Ayika explained that the escapees were not Plateau indigenes but from other states and were fortunate to have enjoyed the sponsorship of the state government.

She said that it was in the character of the state government to welcome “strangers’’ residing in the state and extend kind gestures to them.

“It is not the first time that the Plateau Government is sponsoring non-indigenes but it is unfortunate that this kindness is being abused.

“By what this people have done, we have broken the law of the State of Israel and their guarantors will be punished appropriately,’’ she said.

Kogi Primary: Bello May Likely Replace Audu

Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who came second to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the All Progressives Congress’ [APC] governorship primaries last month, is likely to be nominated as the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the supplementary polls slated for next week, Daily Trust learnt from reliable party sources in Abuja last night.

The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has given APC up to December 1 to nominate a replacement for Audu, who died on Sunday shortly after the election was declared inconclusive.

Even though APC’s national chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun said on Tuesday that the party would organize new primaries to pick a replacement for Audu, Daily Trust learnt that party leaders do not intend to hold new primaries and would only make a “substitution.”
Party leaders say this is in line with the letter of the Electoral Act, which says a party would be allowed to

My Husband Has Idolised Me And Now I'm Fed Up I Need Help Please

From a reader:

I had to create a new account just to post this as it's quite sensitive. It's quite lengthy too but I'll be brief. I need mature and friendly advice from people here.

When I first met my husband, it was in a library. We talked briefly and we became close. I have had past relationships in my life so I was careful as possible. I realized that he had no past relationship. He was a typical virgin and was new and I was his first girlfriend. So I felt comfortable with him. He was so kind and loving so I agreed to marry him.

Now it has gotten worse. Every time he does anything I want without asking questions. At first I enjoyed it but now I'm starting to worry about him as it's getting out of hand. He does not display any act of manliness in the house. He behaves like my puppet or my foot stool. The other day he was watching the soccer game and I just jokingly mentioned how boring it was and I would prefer the faith channel. He changed the channel
